General Information

What is chiropractic care?

+

Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions related to muscles, bones, joints, and nerves. Chiropractors are primary care practitioners who develop comprehensive treatment plans that may include manual therapy, exercise, and lifestyle counseling.

The main treatment technique is called an adjustment – a highly skilled and precise movement applied to a joint to restore proper movement and optimize function. At Active Chiropractic, we specialize in both gentle adjusting techniques (Activator Methods) and manual adjustments.

Is chiropractic treatment safe?

Chiropractors in Ontario undergo four years of training at an accredited chiropractic institution and are regulated healthcare professionals. We carefully assess each patient to ensure treatment is appropriate and safe.

Will the adjustment hurt?

+

Most patients find chiropractic adjustments comfortable and often experience immediate relief. We specialize in gentle techniques, and our approach is tailored to your comfort level. Some patients may experience mild soreness after treatment, similar to post-exercise soreness, which typically resolves within 24-48 hours.

We always communicate with you during treatment and adjust our techniques based on your feedback.

How many treatments will I need?

+

The number of treatments varies depending on your condition, how long you've had it, and your overall health. Some patients experience significant relief after just a few visits, while others with chronic conditions may benefit from ongoing care.

During your initial assessment, we'll discuss an estimated treatment plan. We monitor your progress closely and adjust the plan as needed. Our goal is to get you better as efficiently as possible.
