Your Guide to Better Movement & Less Pain

A chiropractor is a licensed primary care health professional — one of only five types of practitioners in Ontario permitted to use the title "Doctor."

Chiropractors assess and treat conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system: your spine, muscles, joints, and the nerves that run through them. Think of them as specialists in how your body moves — and why it hurts when it doesn't move well.

Chiropractic care is non-invasive and drug-free. Your chiropractor will never prescribe medication or perform surgery, but will work closely with your medical team and refer you to appropriate specialists when needed.

What Can a Chiropractor Help With?

Whether your pain came on suddenly or has lingered for years, chiropractic care is designed to find the root cause — not just mask the symptoms.

Back & Neck Pain

One of the most common reasons people see a chiropractor — and one of the most rewarding to treat.

Headaches & Migraines

Many headaches originate from tension and misalignment in the neck and upper spine.

Sports Injuries

From sprains and strains to overuse injuries — get back in the game faster.

Motor Vehicle Injuries

Whiplash and soft-tissue injuries from accidents often respond very well to chiropractic care.

Sciatica

Sharp leg pain radiating from the lower back? Chiropractic care often provides significant relief.

Chronic Pain

Ongoing pain that limits your life doesn't have to be permanent — let's find a path forward.

What Is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

At the heart of chiropractic care is a technique called the adjustment — a safe, precise, and highly skilled movement applied to a specific joint in your body.

Adjustments work by gently restoring normal motion to joints that have become restricted or are moving poorly. When joints move the way they should, pain decreases, muscles relax, and your nervous system can communicate more freely.

Many patients notice relief after just one or two sessions. Your chiropractor will always explain exactly what they're doing and why, and your comfort and consent come first.

Beyond manual adjustments, chiropractors may also use cold laser, muscle release therapy, acupuncture, and rehabilitative exercise — all tailored to your specific condition and goals.

Activator Method chiropractic instrument adjustment at Active Chiropractic Activator Method

Gentle Care With the Activator Method

At Active Chiropractic, we specialize in the Activator Method — a gentle, instrument-assisted adjusting technique that is especially popular with patients who prefer a softer touch, including those new to chiropractic care.

Instead of a manual thrust, the Activator instrument delivers a precise, low-force impulse to the targeted joint. It's quick, comfortable, and highly effective. Many patients are surprised by how much relief such a gentle technique can provide.

We also perform manual (hands-on) adjustments with great proficiency. The approach we use is always based on Dr. Rosati's clinical assessment, your condition, and most importantly — your preference. You are in control of your care.

More Than Just Adjustments

Chiropractic care at Active Chiropractic goes well beyond the adjustment table. We offer a full suite of evidence-informed treatments to support your recovery and long-term health.

Cold Laser Therapy

Painless light-based therapy that promotes cellular healing and reduces inflammation — great for chronic pain and injuries.

Functional Integrated Acupuncture

Evidence-based needle therapy to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and support healing.

Muscle Release Therapy

Targeted soft-tissue techniques to break up scar tissue, improve flexibility, and restore normal muscle function.

Custom Orthotics

Professionally fitted shoe inserts that correct foot mechanics and relieve strain on your knees, hips, and spine.

Rehabilitative Exercise

A personalized program of stretches and strengthening exercises to support your treatment and prevent future flare-ups.

Chronic Pain Management

A comprehensive, individualized approach to addressing long-standing pain — combining multiple therapies to help you regain function and quality of life.

What Happens When You Come In?

We know that visiting a new healthcare provider can feel a little uncertain. Here's exactly what to expect from your first appointment at Active Chiropractic.

1

Health History & Conversation

We'll ask about your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and goals. No detail is too small.

2

Physical Assessment

Dr. Rosati will examine your posture, range of motion, and the specific areas causing you pain.

3

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

You'll receive a clear explanation of what's happening in your body and an honest treatment recommendation.

4

Your First Treatment

With your consent, and unless further testing is required, we'll often begin treatment the same day. Many patients feel a difference right away.

Chiropractors Are Highly Trained

Becoming a chiropractor in Canada requires four years of post-graduate education at an accredited institution such as the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. The curriculum covers anatomy, pathology, biomechanics, diagnostic imaging, chiropractic principles, and advanced adjusting techniques. In Ontario, chiropractors are among only five classes of health professionals legally permitted to use the title "Doctor."

Your Questions, Answered

Most patients find chiropractic care comfortable and even relaxing. Some people experience mild soreness in the treated area — similar to how you might feel after a workout — but this typically resolves within a day. We use the gentlest technique effective for your condition, and you always have a say in your treatment.
No referral is required. As primary care practitioners, chiropractors can assess and treat you directly. Simply call our office or request an appointment online and we'll get you in as soon as possible.
Many extended health benefit plans cover chiropractic care. We offer direct billing to most major insurers, which means we handle the claim on your behalf and you only pay the difference, if any. Contact our office and we'll verify your coverage before your first appointment.
It varies depending on your condition, how long you've had it, and your overall health. Some patients feel significantly better after just a few visits; others with chronic conditions benefit from ongoing maintenance care. Dr. Rosati will give you an honest, individualized recommendation — not a one-size-fits-all plan.
The Activator Method is an excellent choice for patients who prefer gentle care — including seniors, post-surgical patients, and those anxious about traditional manual adjustments. During your assessment, Dr. Rosati will discuss the best approach for your specific situation. You are always welcome to express your preferences.
Absolutely. Chiropractic care is widely recognized as an effective treatment for motor vehicle accident injuries including whiplash, neck and back strain, and headaches. We have extensive experience supporting MVA patients through their recovery and work with HCAI-approved insurers for your claim. Please don't wait — the sooner you're assessed, the better your recovery outcome tends to be.
